While watching the devastating effects that the Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill are having on our precious Gulf Coast culture and wildlife, several concerned members of the New Orleans art community found ourselves faced with the question, "How, as artists, can we help?"  To us, the obvious answer was to provide a medium through which artists from across the globe could reach out by using their creative skills to provide aid and assistance.  Shortly thereafter, the nonprofit organization Artists ACT NOW was formed.  We teamed up with Audubon Nature Institute in collaboration with LMMSTRP (Louisiana Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program) and began preparations for our first benefit art show,
"ACT NOW for the Gulf," to be presented in July, 2010.
The members of Artists ACT NOW greatly appreciate any support you may be able to provide, both in our early development and in the future in order to help bring our vision to fruition.
