Using nature as inspiration, Louisiana artist Anne Cicero offers a glimpse of the serene and beautiful in her contemporary acrylic landscapes.  Growing up in the New Orleans area, Anne was influenced by the rich local cultural heritage and encouraged by her creative family to pursue art from an very young age.  Anne earned a BFA degree in Graphic Design from Louisiana State University and continues to study privately.  After graduating Anne embarked on a very diverse artistic career working as a stylist, set dresser, and costumer in the feature film and advertising industry.  She uses her knowledge of design, color, and texture to bring a unique energy, style, and light to her paintings.  Several galleries in the Gulf Coast region have shown her work recently and she is becoming a well respected and admired artist among a varied clientele.

"My paintings represent the feeling of timeless beauty, peace and quiet drama inherent in nature.  Distinct memories stay with me from my Louisiana roots...the beautiful windswept marsh grasses, live oaks in the distance, the ominous play of light behind the clouds from an approaching storm....the atmosphere portrayed in my canvases resonates with an energy and light that reconciles the realm of the sacred and imaginary with reality.  Approaching each painting with pure enjoyment of and for the creative process...layering the canvas with glazes of vibrant color upon varying degrees of texture, I try to capture the mood and essence of that time and space."
