Charles Merrell

Charles Merrell grew up & attended college in St. Louis, Mo. Most of his adult life has been spent in New Orleans. His present work is mainly on canvas or prints but he has done sculpture, metalwork & jewelry design in the past.

Artist Statement

"I see art in all things; from a painting hanging on a wall to clouds over a tree draped bayou to a piece of furniture, handmade & finished by hand. I've always loved all aspects of art from drawing or painting to designing a piece of jewelry to designing a house to live in. I studied art in college with the idea of becoming an artist. Life took me in many other directions but always brought me back & back again. I've been fortunate to have had several exhibits, the most recent at Du Mois Gallery, New Orleans, La"
