The mission of Artists Act Now is to draw from the talents and compassion of artists across the globe to provide aid and relief to anyone and anything in need as a result of man-made or natural catastrophes.
Karen Ocker has been painting since age 5. Ocker is an award-winning graphic artist, veteran book designer and published illustrator. She has exhibited her work in New Orleans, Chicago and New York City, most recently in the Louisiana Marketplace at the 2010 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. She has published two books of illustrated political satire—The George W. Bush Coloring Book and the Ray Nagin Coloring Book. Her work has appeared in Day for Night the 2006 Whitney Museum Biennial catalog, Print Magazine Regional Design Review. Through her work, Ocker has made both local and national headlines including the Associated Press, CNN, Forbes.com, FOX National News, Good Morning New Orleans, The Times-Picayune, The Gambit, Offbeat Magazine, the National Coalition of Women Artists Newsletter, and many others. She lives and works in New Orleans.
